The Grand Capital Management Network

Carl Grande

Financial Planner

Carl’s lived in southern California all his life.  He’s what they consider a “local kid”.  He enjoys hanging out with his wife, Audrey and his daughter, Talia.  He loves developing connections with humans and talking about life. Carl likes to ride dirt bikes, play basketball, drive his truck, play a round of golf or two, coach his daughter, & make breakfast! He loves the Lord, and is an active member of Core Church Los Angeles.  If you meet him, he might start talking to you about existence and you might just contemplate yours.

Carl started his career as an career insurance agent in 2009, and quickly learned that the financial industry was broken.  People needed more than insurance investments to “become wealthy”, and they definitely couldn’t rely on real estate as their primary asset due to the housing market crisis the prior year.  So, he ventured into the world of finance and found that there were many different ways to build wealth.  In his early years, he spent time working with multiple financial institutions which were best known for their customer service.  He learned what it meant to offer good service, and that the people on “Main Street”, particularly small business owners, were very underserved.   This realization was the precursor for starting his own business & developing professional relationships to help serve people.  The problem he encountered in the industry was trying to give holistic advice while fighting uphill battles with other professionals.  There was no congruency in client advice across industries, and people didn’t know who to trust.

So, in an act of bravery, he set out to create a safe place for people on Main Street to experience the planning, strategies, and service that the high net worth were so accustomed to. Voila’! Grand Capital Management was created!

Christopher Cervantez

Chris Cervantez possesses a relentless passion to help his clients. With sellers, he focuses on that highest price from a committed buyer to close the deal. With buyers, he sifts through the “pretty good” and “maybe” to find the “Yes this one” house.

The real estate market is an evolving landscape that is not the same today as it was 6 months, 1 year or 5 years ago. With a career commitment to acting as a real estate agent, Chris gets in front of industry trends, researches local and national markets, and keeps tabs on housing market metrics.

His sphere of industry experts including contractors, inspectors, home stagers and photographers means that the client’s needs are met and that you can make educated decisions.

The San Gabriel Valley is a nuanced and rewarding place to call home, and as a San Gabriel Valley native, Chris understands the in’s & out’s of each area and what makes them unique and special. When Chris isn’t helping his clients achieve their goals, he is spending time with his wife and two kids. Friday nights are off-limits as they are reserved for date nights.

Joshua Paul Schmidt

College Planning Specialist

As a husband and father, I empathize and understand the financial stress that comes when thinking about paying for college and hoping to retire someday. My goal is to help relieve as much of that stress as possible. I have been helping students get admitted into great universities and helping parents pay the least amount possible since 2001.

I actively volunteer at my church wherever I’m needed. I like working with the youth; and I enjoy helping parents find financial peace. Working with the team at Grand Capital, we help the parents optimize where they put their money for retirement, college, insurance, taxes, etc. An effective and efficient financial plan helps you find where you are losing your current money and redirect it back into your pocket. We look at the whole picture and take into account life’s biggest stumbling blocks.

Born and raised in Iowa, I moved to Los Angeles originally to attend seminary school. However, I found a different path to helping people and that came when I started working in the Financial Aid Office at the University of Southern California. While working at USC, I obtained a master’s degree and was adjunct faculty until 2017. During my 15+ year tenure at USC, I was known as the dream-maker. I traveled to high schools throughout Southern California to meet with families and literally helped thousands of students find their best-fit colleges, helped them get admitted, and helped parents save more and pay less for any U.S.-based college.
